Jens Buchholz — a super cool motion designer, based in Berlin
Hi, my name is Jens.

Born in '86 and living proof that nerds don't always spend their time in the basement. Okay, granted, if my workplace was there, I would rarely see the light of day either. Which is not least due to the fact that I turned my hobby into a profession about 15 years ago and am simply passionate about it! Thankfully, my girlfriend always finds a way to remind me that I'm not just a nerd.

Buchholz Motion + Graphics, a one-man creative studio founded in 2022 and based in Berlin. With a clear focus on form and aesthetics and specialization in motion graphics and 3D, there are no limits when it comes to pushing your branding forward or even reinventing it.

creative

process

01
learn
Before I dive into the work, I first want to learn about my clients, of course. understanding their needs, visions or graphic identity is essential. But what's even more important, from my point of view, is to build a relationship with the people I work with closely. Because that is the greatest guarantee for optimal solutions.
02
analyze
After the mutual warm-up, I can get started and take a close look at the often very different customer requirements. This usually results in several approaches to a solution, which are analyzed and discussed together with you. This process can be very inspiring and helps to generate spontaneous ideas that can be applied directly. No matter whether it is a simple logo or complex 3D animations.
03
create
Finally be a nerd again! With the given deadlines, I create a rough roadmap at the beginning, e.g. in the form of a storyboard or mood board, to briefly pick you up, which scenes the spot will contain, whether the 3D visualizations will be kept more abstract or photorealistic, which color combinations make sense etc. Now that everyone is full of expectation, I can start getting creative. In the meantime, short feedback rounds take place to evaluate the current progress together. On the one hand, this awakens anticipation on the client's side, and on the other, it prevents any unexpected surprises.
