Since 2023 I have been working as a freelance 3D animator and WebGL collaborator for Refokus, a studio known for interactive, design-driven websites. The collaboration extends across several digital disciplines: interactive WebGL experiences, abstract 3D animations and cinematic website films, all built around the idea that movement, code and composition can strengthen a brand's digital presence.
My part usually begins in Cinema 4D, where scenes, materials and animation are developed with the constraints of real-time rendering in mind. From there, the work moves into WebGL, where those scenes become browser-based 3D environments that respond to scrolling, cursor movement and user input in real time. This step is what separates interactive 3D from a video embedded on a page: geometry, textures and lighting have to be optimised so the experience runs smoothly on laptops and phones, and the animation has to hold up when the user, not the timeline, controls the pace. Alongside the interactive work, I produced abstract explainer animations and cinematic motion sequences for website films and campaign content.
Several of the resulting projects were recognized with an Awwwards Site of the Day, one of the most visible quality benchmarks in web design and WebGL.
If you are looking for a freelance 3D animator or WebGL developer in Berlin for an interactive web project, this collaboration shows the range: from cinematic 3D to hands-on real-time implementation.
